Coburg’s town hall becomes a renovation case

When people age, they get wrinkles. When buildings age, they crack – at least frequently. The historic town house on coburg’s market square is no exception, although it is one of the most magnificent buildings in the former residential town – adorned with magnificent gables and a large number of sculptures. An imposing building erected at the turn of the 16. To 17. The project emerged in the twentieth century.

Anyone who looks at the townhouse with more than just the cursory glance of a tourist in a hurry will discover unmistakable signs of aging in many places – signs that force the town to take action. Fine cracks run through the plaster – in some places there are now even coarser sections without plaster, for example on the narrow side facing spitalgasse.

The battle is finally lost

The battle is finally lost

For more than ten years the people of neukenroth have been worried about their oak tree. It was a slow decline of the tree giant. The extreme summers of 2018 and 2019 have now given it the rest. The more than 200-year-old natural monument has finally lost the battle. The once powerful crown looks almost accusatory and ghostly at the same time.

Every local knows the mason’s oak and it is as much a part of the townscape as the church st. Catherine. Nature conservation has been in place since 1937. The appearance has been imposing to date. After all, the oak has a height of 25 meters and a trunk circumference of 4.50 meters. There are estimates of twenty solid cubic meters of lumber.

How weitramsdorf supports its associations

Associations registered in the appropriate register and recognized as non-profit with seat in the municipality will continue to be required in weitramsdorf with an annual subsidy. The subsidy will be paid out by 15. October. School association: effeltrich’s mayor negotiates inheritance contract

Membership in the baiersdorf school association has long been a highly controversial issue in the municipality of effeltrich: in spring 2015, the municipal council had already instructed the administration to examine steps to withdraw from the school association.
It was feared that the effeltricher pupils attending the middle school in baiersdorf were distributed to erlangen schools if baiersdorf was unable to offer certain chosen subjects.
The high amount of the school association levy to be paid was also a cause for concern: depending on the number of effeltrich schoolchildren attending the baiersdorf school, the community had to pay 4000 to 4500 euro per capita per year. In the meantime, however, it has become clear that the fears regarding the distribution of the children from effeltrich among the schools in erlangen were unfounded.

3500 euro per head

Thanks to the efforts and negotiating skills of the mayors of effeltrich and poxdorf, a reduction in the rent for the school and gymnasium in baiersdorf was also achieved, so that the school association levy for effeltrich is currently around 3500 euros per capita per year.
With regard to the desired withdrawal of the municipality from the school association, consultations with various lawyers as well as with the municipal supervisory authority of the district office forchheim have shown that a withdrawal is not possible at all. An action for norm control before the bavarian administrative court against the ordinance on the formation of the school association would only have been possible within one year of the publication of the legal provision.
This period has long expired. If the municipality of effeltrich persists in withdrawing from the school association, it will have no choice but to file a popular complaint with the bavarian constitutional court. The court then had to determine whether there had been a violation of fundamental rights in this case. As an alternative to this costly procedure with an uncertain outcome, mayor kathrin heimann (DEL) proposed further negotiations with the representatives of the owners’ association in the school association.

New building for kindergarten decided

New building for kindergarten decided

The new kindergarten in huttenheim is to move into a new building there after the demolition of the current school building. At monday’s council meeting, architect thomas buchholz explained how the future daycare center with its own functional building will look in the future as a kind of village community center. As mayor ingrid reifenscheid-eckert explained, there should be a clear separation between the three components of the kindergarten, the municipal archives and the public area.

Thomas buchholz suggested an L-shape for the new building in order to have a protected area. A foyer with the main entrance will connect the two building parts. A meeting room for the kindergarten staff was needed, but not required. With a floor area of 437 square meters and a usable area of 350 square meters, the architect roughly estimated the costs at 1.5 million euro with a possible cost of one million euro. In the other part of the building, the archives and rooms for the use of citizens, institutions and associations are planned. With a usable area of 406 square meters, buchholz predicted construction costs of 1.2 million euro, whether and how much subsidy remained absolutely open.

Preschoolers fit to go to school

preschoolers fit to go to school

"How to behave properly on the way to school?" When tobias kern from the ebern police station, dressed in his police uniform, addressed the preschool children from the kindergarten "pfiffikus in pfarrweisach and answered their questions about safety, the children were thrilled.
The morning was all about the rules of the road, what children need to watch out for and how to behave properly. For a change, the traffic education was not only theoretical, but also connected with practical exercises, which increased the enthusiasm of the children. Together, they discussed the options for getting to school. It was important to speak up and not to interrupt, as is required at school.
One of the options was to take a bus to school. There are important behaviors that must be observed to avoid endangering oneself and others: for example, line up school bags, do not push when getting on/off the bus, do not walk or stand up on the bus before it stops, and more.
"My mom drives me to school. What to look for? How to behave properly?" With questioning looks and thoughtful faces, the children eagerly pondered and found answers to these questions as well: buckle up, get in on the right side. Signs, crossing guards, road helpers and crosswalks were also discussed.

Crossing the street alone

One of the most used ways to get to school is walking. The children were able to practice crossing the street correctly in the gym. With the help of a dot on the left hand, the children were better able to orient themselves. Following traffic educator kern’s advice and the rule "stop, look left, look right and look left again before you cross the street" has been widely praised. Then they went on a real trip. Each child was allowed to cross the road individually with the light help of the policeman. It was important to pay close attention and follow the rules that had been learned just before. Afterwards, each of the preschoolers received a diploma in kindergarten stating that they had now been "police tested" and are fit for the way to school.
