Christa and kilian schnapp met on a train trip

Christa and kilian schnapp from zeil, who celebrated their golden wedding anniversary on thursday, can look back on 50 proud years of marriage.

The couple had already known each other fluently when it sparked during a coincidental train ride together from habfurt to zeil. Some time later, the wedding bells rang for the habfurter and the zeilerin, a native of greb. On 24. January 1969 they were married first in a civil ceremony and then on the same day in church in the town parish church of zeil.

Kilian schnapp learned the baking trade from master baker wilhelm jungling in habfurt before moving to the sugar factory in 1963. He worked there as a pipe layer until the zeiler plant was closed in 2001. Afterwards, the 73-year-old worked for several years as a janitor for the caritas district association in habfurt before retiring.

His wife christa was a tailor for table linen at the erba weaving mill before devoting herself to raising children, raising two sons and a daughter.

Today, the happy couple is leaving with their jack russell terrier "bobbi" regularly goes for walks or spends his free time in his allotment in sand. For decades, the couple has been reading their local newspaper every day to stay informed about what’s going on in their neighborhood. Kilian schnapp is also an avid sports fan and is interested in soccer and formula 1. As a skilled baker, he also likes to bake cakes and pies, which are always very well received by his relatives.

The schnapp couple is also very internet-savvy. With their ten grandchildren, some of whom live very far away in southern bavaria, the two often communicate via text messages and exchange photos.

Mayor thomas stadelmann (SPD) also congratulated the couple on behalf of the city of zeil. He wished the two couples many more years of happiness together.
