
On wednesday (13. December 2017) a company christmas party in langweid am lech in swabia came to a tragic end: the staff was celebrating in a guesthouse in the "oskar gschwilm way" – many of the 30 people present drank "copious amounts of alcohol". According to police reports, a 35-year-old man slipped on a staircase on the second floor as he was leaving the restaurant and slid down several steps.
The tragedy takes its course
A 41-year-old man who was running upstairs at the time stopped in the stairwell to make room for the 35-year-old man who was trying to get up. At the moment of lifting the man lost his balance again and fell on the 41-year-old, who was standing in front of a staircase railing. Due to the fall, both manner lost their balance and flew over the gelander into the stairwell – six meters deep!

The 41-year-old man suffered very serious injuries to his head and died at the scene of the crash. The 35-year-old survived the crash and was admitted to a hospital with moderate injuries. A breath alcohol test at the hospital showed a value of 2.8 per mille.
The augsburg criminal investigation department took over the investigation during the night and is currently investigating the accusation of involuntary manslaughter that is still pending.
